Trumpeter David Collins will present a free talk on writing for brass instruments in the Boydell Room (top floor) of House 5, Trinity College Dublin on Monday 4th September from 6–8pm.

Workshop Outline: This is an interactive workshop with a focus on composition for a brass instrument and composer/performer collaboration. David will perform practical demonstrations on the trumpet and also field questions on any writing issues concerning Trombone, Horn and Tuba.

In Dialogue is a concert series showcasing new works by composers from the Irish Composers' Collective in which each concert features one work from a composer central to the canon of modern music and new works by ICC members presented in dialogue with this work. Lectures & workshops will run concurrently to the concert series.

This talk is connected to and will be followed by a concert on the 21st November with 6 new works for brass quintet by ICC composers written in dialogue with Michael Kamen's 'Quintet' for Brass Quintet.
